Overview
18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker VR by f1nal-b0ss brings Sega AM2's 2001 Dreamcast arcade trucker 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker to Meta Quest as a standalone 6DoF VR game. The developer reverse-engineered the USA disc's SH-4 executable and extended the Flycast OpenXR reprojection engine from hotd2-vr (mikermak), built on Flycast. You sit inside the 3D big-rig cab with motion controls, an air-horn gesture and haptic feedback.
Install type: APK + your own game files.
Highlights:
- 6DoF stereo truck cab: a planar-depth cab shader keeps the dashboard, working gauges, sunglasses, magazine and windshield pillars flat and distortion-free as you look around.
- Air-horn gesture: raise your left hand to visor level (or press Y) to blast the horn.
- Two steering modes: thumbstick, or hold both grips to grab a 6DoF virtual steering wheel.
- Haptics: diesel idle and throttle rumble, brake shudder, a gear-shift clunk, and crash jolts.
- Arcade CRT color pass at a locked 60/72 FPS, plus live screen-distance and world-scale adjustment.
[!IMPORTANT] No game files are included. The APK contains no Sega ROM data, binaries or game assets. You need your own dump of 18 Wheeler: American Pro Trucker (USA) (
MK-51064), as.gdi+.bintracks or.chd. Fan project, not affiliated with SEGA or Meta.
[!NOTE] Beta. v0.1.0 (October 22, 2026) is the first release. The README lists Quest 2, Quest Pro, Quest 3 and Quest 3S.
Prerequisites
- A Meta Quest headset with Developer Mode enabled.
- SideQuest or ADB on a computer and a USB-C data cable.
- Your 18 Wheeler (USA, MK-51064) disc image.
Step-by-Step Installation
1. Install the APK
Download 18wheeler-vr.apk via 1-click on QuestPorts or from GitHub Releases. Install it with SideQuest or ADB, then grant storage access:
adb install -r 18wheeler-vr.apk
adb shell appops set com.flycast.emulator.wheeler18 MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE allow
2. Copy your game disc
Copy your .gdi + .bin tracks (or .chd) into /:
adb push 18wheeler/ /sdcard/Download/18Wheeler/
You can also use SideQuest's file manager, or plug the headset into a PC, allow access in the headset, and open Quest > Internal shared storage > Download. If your dump has both a .cue and a .gdi, copy only the .gdi and the .bin tracks so the high-density GD-ROM area boots properly.
3. Launch in VR
Open Library > Unknown Sources > 18 Wheeler VR. If asked on first launch, grant All files access so the app can read the folder.

Credits
Port by f1nal-b0ss. VR engine from mikermak/hotd2-vr, built on Flycast.
The game doesn't find your disc: put the .gdi + .bin tracks (or .chd) in /sdcard/Download/18Wheeler/ and grant All files access (or run adb shell appops set com.flycast.emulator.wheeler18 MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE allow). It boots wrong or fails with a .cue dump: copy only the .gdi and its .bin tracks, not the .cue. Use the USA disc (MK-51064, V1.500); other regions aren't the target. The view is off-center: press X or the left menu button to recenter; adjust screen distance and world scale by holding one grip and moving the thumbstick. App not in the Library: look under Unknown Sources; Developer Mode must be on. Fan project, not affiliated with SEGA or Meta; no game files are provided.
